For mixed ages or a first time playing, start with the Roman Fortress (ages 12+). For confident puzzle solvers who want something darker and more atmospheric, go for the Asylum (ages 14+). Both use the same core mechanic — logic and observation — so you’ll hit the ground running either way.

A colour printer, scissors, a pen or pencil, and a smartphone with a QR code reader. Newer iPhones can use the built-in camera app. Android and older iPhones may need a free QR reader app from the app store.

1–4 players working through it together page by page is the standard experience. For 6+ players, split into teams of 2–3, print a copy per team, and race. One purchase, unlimited prints.
